Thistle Spell

Some folklore suggests the thistle can help with mental distress, with carrying or wearing the flower believed to drive away feelings of melancholy. Meadow thistles have also traditionally been used for protection and purification: the thistle's prickles are symbolically linked to a strong defense, especially at the threshold of the home. Used to create protective barriers in spells, rituals, and intetions, some believe meadow thistle wards off unhelpful energies that would enter the home. In ancient Greece, wearing the leaves was thought to protect against evil.
